About the Author

On December 12, 1972, in

the small town of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, Ebony Farashuu emerged, like a

butterfly, from the cocoon of her mother’s womb. During her adolescent years,

Ebony discovered she could easily escape the complexities of life by taking a

pen and putting her dreams to paper. In February 2002, as an attempt to get over

chronic stage fright, she began performing spoken word poetry. She is now the

official hostess of Poetry On Greenwood, a monthly open mic session, held in

Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has also performed with The Full Flava Kings, an up and

coming R&B band. Personally, for Farashuu, writing is a therapeutic process.

Through performing, she has found her words were meant to touch hearts other

than her own. As a graduate of the “The University of Love and Life”, Ebony

Farashuu credits personal experience and her innate ability to feel the pain of

others as the primary source of her poetry. She is working on her second book

Romantic Treason, a novel, due for release in 2003.
